Pumpkin Hunting!

I miss the days of growing up on a farm, walking out to your garden to pick your pumpkins that you've slaved over all year long. The pumpkins that you covered from the spring and fall frost, and tended to so they'd grow big and orange for the perfect jack-o-lantern! But Thanks to the booming pumpkin industry in the south valley of Renton, Kent & Auburn Washington, you can have a perfect pumpkin without all the hassle of the growing. All you really need to do is grab your wheelbarrow, camera and a few bucks to pick out your perfect pumpkin. Oh, and if you're going you should probably wear old shoes, I learned that the hard way.

In our neck of the woods the Carpinito Brothers are somewhat infamous for their produce and pumpkin patch! The photos don't show it, but it was CRAZY BUSY! We were one of probably 75-80 people looking for our pumpkins!
We went with this beautiful family, my uncle Gene, aunt Christina & little cousin Demitra (Demi).
It was Demitra's first pumpkin patch... she had so much fun!

I feel like every little kid should go pick their own pumpkin, I let her walk wherever she wanted to go!

That's my hubby picking out his pumpkin. We each carve one each year!

 Such a little pumpkin'!

Here's our 49 pounds of pumpkin! We did so good!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
