The Great Pumpkin Carve of 2012

Normally this post is like 5-8 days ago, but I've been so crazy busy with work, Relay for life and "Other" in my life that we just got around to carving our pumpkins last night. It's pretty sad that they'll only be shining bright on our porch for three days, but better three than zero. I am glad that my pumpkins won't have time to turn into mush though, that's my least favorite part.

I can't ever imagine not buying real pumpkins the whole "Funkin" phase terrifies me. My Mom had one, but it was after we all moved out and she didn't want to carve pumpkins by herself! Still, probably never going to buy one.

That being said... here's the shots from our night, we had 4 pumpkins! We always do one for ourselves, and then one for each of our furry kids. Our puppy Aquaman LOVES carving pumpkins! He loves to lick them!

He makes me laugh, he seriously cannot get enough of it.

Here's our other furry one who HATES the pumpkin carving thing... mostly she just wants to be left alone.

 For the kids!
 The one I carved!

 Happy Halloween!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
