Kneeland Family Christmas!!

One of my favorite Childhood ornaments
The Ornament I made out of one of my Grandma's Clip-on Earrings
With our Tree up, stockings hung, and vacation under way we began celebrating Christmas this weekend!
Eric met me downtown on Thursday night, and we went to DeLaurentis and got meat and cheese for our annual platter, then we finished up a few Christmas gifts. It wasn't super busy downtown, DeLaurentis' was a little busy but that's pretty normal.

Friday we spent grocery shopping, and getting the last few things in order before the holiday rush. It was sure nice to have Friday off to get some of this accomplished. After a few run-ins with some less than happy holiday shoppers, we were headed home to NOT be around people anymore! It amazes me how the Christmas joy can turn into Christmas rage!

We had dinner with Tim and Katherine on Friday night and that helped put us back into the holiday spirit.

Yesterday we slept in (yaaay) and headed to Tim and Kat's at 3 to have Tea, because we're funny like that. We hung out a little bit and then headed down to Auburn to have Christmas with Gene, Christina & Dimitra!
An inherited Ornament of my Mom's which belonged to Grandma & Grandpa Nielsen on their first Christmas together!
My Pretty Kitty

This was her Christmas gift to me... to pose in front of the tree - it didn't last long!

I have mentioned this 100 times before, but I'll mention it again, I LOVE having Gene, Christina and Dimitra in my back yard! It's so much fun!

We decided to have a family Christmas together - Christina cooked us a WONDERFUL meal of Lamb, Potatos, lima beans and salad. And then we opened gifts, and then we headed outside and walked around the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights!

We gave Dimitra a Seahorse Glow Worm, she loved it!

Have I mentioned how adorable she is?

We Love her.
Look at those eye lashes :)
She's very goofy - and helped the rest of us open our gifts too! Though she's at the age where it's more fun to play with whatever toy you JUST opened, than to continue to open more gifts! We got Gene a book, and Christina a blanket, they got Eric a BBQ set with Mariners logos, and I got a foot bath! We had fun exchanging gifts!

Then we were off to look at lights!
Gene and Christina live in this nice little development on the hill in Auburn. They have a really nice neighborhood, and it seems most people participate in putting up lights!
Though, he forgot to mention that his neighbor is Clark W. Griswold!
We walked and walked until we put Dimitra to sleep!
Gene vowed to be in the running for the Lakeland Hills competition for Lighting for next year, so him and Eric are going to have weekly "planning" meetings starting October 1!

Sweet girl!
Just one of the many celebrations this weekend!
WE LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
