2013 | New Years Eve

Welcome to 2013 - the year of More! More Blogging, More photos being taken, More exercise, and More dieting. More on that... later.

Last night we spent in company of our wonderful friends Tim and Katherine. We rang in the new year by having a pork chop dinner together topped off with Monster cookies and Ice Cream for dessert! Mmmh! Good! Oh yeah, and I polished off a half bottle of wine... It tasted SO good.

Then Kat picked up some Christmas Crackers for us - so at Midnight, we cracked them open and had to get a few photos of the crazy crowns that came with them!

The Dogs were NOT happy with all the fireworks going off outside. Aquaman was the least neurotic of the three which is pretty impressive. Cosmo just hopped up on Tim's chair, which is pretty out of character- and Seven ran around in circles panting so hard his toung was hanging sideways out of his mouth... Poor Puppies

Bring it on 2013... Let's do this!

Ps Aquaman even got brave and snagged a chew from Seven....

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
