My 29th Birthday!

My birthday lasted two days! Friday my Co-workers and friends spoiled me, and then Saturday Eric Spoiled me. I can't complain, inching closer to 30 seems surreal, but with friends and family like this by your side, it makes it less scary for sure!

Friday started out with Coconut Macaroons made by Mindy. I would argue these are some of THE BEST Coconut Macaroons that I've ever had. They are delicious and I had like 6 of them for breakfast!
I got an array of nice cards, and a few gifts from everyone. It feels good to be loved.
The co-workers took me to lunch at Farestart, and then when we got back, these were sitting on my desk waiting for me, from my wonderful Husband!
Then, when I got home - THESE were waiting for me, from my BFF Liz!
So, I sent her that picture :)

That night, we went to have Indian food at my favorite restaurant with Tim and Kat, and a quick stroll / play through Toys R' Us, and then a few episodes of Modern Family together. It was a wonderful night!

When I woke up Saturday, we swung through Costco to get Eric's glasses -and in a stroke of birthday luck, got a decent parking space and we were able to get in and out of Costco on a Saturday, that was a gift in and of itself.
We headed up to Wallingford to eat some of my favorite Cupcakes ever - Trophy!
I had a Triple Coconut, and Eric's was Strawberry Lemonade

Then we walked down to the sock monster, and I got this pair of socks!
 And this new hat!!!

Then we headed to my favorite pizza place in Georgetown - and walked around a costume shop!
We had a hummas plate, a picture of Pabst Blue Ribbon and that pizza... we just finished off the remnants of it - so Tasty!
We came home and hung out - we spent some time catching up with our newest TV addiction - Mad Men.
Love this guy - he made my day super special!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
