This morning I woke at 9am (which is early for me on a Saturday) and I laid in bed and thought about what I'd like to do for the day. I knew I had to get a work out in, but other than that didn't have many plans. So, I snuggled my Aquaman a little longer and when Eric woke, I told him I thought we should go Hike Marine View Park, and he said that he was thinking the same thing.
So, with in minutes of rolling out of bed, and getting dressed we found ourselves on a hike with Aquaman and a whole lot of sunshine.
We had done this hike before, but we were both in way worse shape than we are now, and We were looking for a challenge today, and we found one!
How lucky we are to live near a water source and a wooded trail. Love this place!
There may be lots of photos like this - but we have to memorialize bub's first hike here... he had never been on anything like this, and I'm so proud of how well he did.
The trail got more and more narrow as we went down and around, but it is such a cool area!
And the trail went up... and down... and up... and down!
Old, Tubby Abby would have hated this... Every step of it!

Hates the water - LOVES to basque in the sun, and loves to sit on Mom and Dad's lap!
The walk back up was a little brutal for both of us...
but we're still glad we went!
The rest of our day was spent looking around at garage sales, and enjoying our area at the local businesses. Love Des Moines... Love Living here!
