A Few Thoughts from this week...

We sat down with Tim and Katherine last night and revisited the past month of our stress and change in our lives. It felt cleansing and good to have friends to talk to about this, and to have friends support and to have someone finally understand.

I know that moving out of our home isn't necessarily a life changing event, and that often people move several times in their lives, but Eric and I really like to stay put and being able to call the place we live HOME and truly mean it is a big deal for us.

We've been facing what seems like an inevitable eviction from our apartment because the bank has foreclosed on the owner of our property, and true we get 90 days to vacate and true they will pay us some relocation assistance, but we don't really want to go anywhere.

We have talked to several people about this, and most have been supportive, but it wasn't till we were sitting with Tim and Kat last night hearing how disgusted they were with it all, just like we were that made us feel like we will be able to move forward no matter what. Maybe it was all the validation we needed.

This being said, we received another notice on our door last week, we'll be meeting with a representative from the bank this week to figure out how to proceed.

I'll keep you in the loop.

Keep us in your prayers.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
