Christmastime!

Having this last week off seems to be just the remedy for a busy past couple months. It was nice to have the time to spend doing things I love with the people I love. We spent time seeing movies, hanging out with friends, and just enjoying eachothers company without early morning wake up times, and early bed times. For Thanksgiving we celebrated our 7th annual Thanksgiving with Tim and Katherine here at the Oleson/Ronnebeck residence. We stuffed ourselves silly and then hung out on the couches and watched some T.V. Sounds riveting, doesn't it? Well, it was awesome! Sound Wave - The Sounders Band The day after Thanksgiving my alarm clock went off at 5 am for a very special reason... the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING PARADE!!! I have only ever been once, but I was thrilled to go again. It's not an annual tradition I'm looking to make, but an every 5 years or so it could be fun! Blitz the SeaHawk! Blue Thunder - SeaHawk drumline. A fe...

On Being Thankful...

Thanksgiving Day is upon us, and I have a hard time letting this day pass without counting my blessings. Growing up, we'd go around the table reciting what we were thankful for, and though that tradition has fallen by the wayside in my adult years, I still have fond memories of this tradition! So, in no real order... I am Thankful for... Life - in general. Eric - He is my better half, and my counterpart. I am happy that he is with me in this journey. My family - Both my immediate and extended. Both near and far. My pets - Aquaman and Gracie are seriously wonderful all the time. My friends - especially those who are letting us live in their home!  Our home - having moved out of our apartment, this place feels more like home every day. God - he and I have an understanding right now, and I am glad that we are on the same page Food - I know this sounds silly, but I'm so thankful that we have a TON of food to eat tomorrow - we're ...

Hip Cooks | Shortcut to Nirvana

For Christmas last our dear friends Tim & Katherine gifted us with a gift certificate to a cooking class at HipCooks in Seattle. We looked over the class schedule a ton, and weren't sure what we wanted to embark on. Since Eric's the cook of the family, I ultimately deferred to whatever he found the most interesting, because I knew we'd just have fun doing it, I didn't think it really mattered what it was exactly. So, when I planned for my week off of work - we signed up for the Indian food class and began to get super excited about it! The class consists of one teacher, an assistant and 14 classmates all working together to make a tasty meal! you get to hear about how each dish is prepared, and you can walk around and help/learn wherever you want to. It's a really cool experience, and we had SO much fun! After all the cooking, we sat down at a HUGE community table and ate our food together remarking on what we liked best, or what recipes we will ...

Ugly Sweater 5k!

So... this past month I sent an e-mail to my co-workers trying to talk them into going to the Ugly Sweater 5K with me. I registered right away knowing that weather or not I could talk anyone into going with me I was going! This is my element - CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Although, the Reindeer on my shirt was a little phallic... it was nothing compared to the snowmen carrots on this lady. This little guy was totally into it! This was our start line!  This guy was a pretty good Dj - he kept everyone pretty happy and hyped up! The 5K was more like a 2 miler... but it was still a ton of fun - lots of great Christmas music at every stop and an abundance of Hot Cocoa! Dawn isn't much for getting her photo taken - but I was loving this thing too much not to take a couple! Lots of cheerleaders at the finish line! It was fun to come through that Candy Cane! This was the "Snow...
