Playing Catch-Up.

1| Shuhan & Max cooked us this amazing feast on Friday night!
  • Sweet-and-sour mock ribs(from Shanghai)
  • Kung Pao Chincken (from Sichuan)
  • Lion head! (yes, Lion head, actually , just large meatball.)
  • Scrambled egg with tomato(traditional Chinese comfort food).

2| After dinner, we went to Gasworks park with Shuhan and Max, we walked around the park at sunset, giving me yet another splash of summer in Seattle, and why I love this place so much! There were a ton of people there though!

3| I got quite a bit of studying done this weekend, and I feel pretty good about it.

4| I've been having some crazy fatigue and headaches lately, but I've amped up my food intake with some more protein, resting when I need to rest, and trying to drink lots of water!

5| Summer is in full swing here - I know it's only June 1st, but the sun has been shining and we've been doing lots of yard work!

6| Aquaman, Eric and I went and walked around Marvista yesterday and we did 2 miles. Aquaman was totally pooped out and was like a little rag doll afterwards!

7| We went looking for rummage sales yesterday and came up dry.

8| I've been keeping my house nice and clean since we've moved in, and I couldn't be more thrilled. It's not AS much work as I thought it was going to be if you just stay on top of it!

9| Weekends have been going nice and slow lately, and I'm thrilled about that too - I've been careful to not overbook ourselves!

10| Bring it on 1st week of June... Bring it on!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
