The Backward Weekend Post | iPhone Dump before the BIG weekend!

This post is a little funny, because I have to work my way backward from Sunday night to Friday night instead of my normal chronological ways. So bear with me!

There's a lot of things I'm "working on" right now... blogging is one of them. I'm trying to decide where I want to take this little slice of life. So sorry if it's a little quiet around here for right now, the quiet means I'm thinking!

With all my studying and the summer sun glaring out my window it's awfully hard to sit down in front of my computer and write like I used to. Either way - Please know I appreciate you who stop in, and that I know that this place is a good little connector to people who live far away (Hi Mariya! Hey Jackie!!)

This week is going to be hectic - and awesome! My Family from South Dakota, Ohio, Arizona and some of Christina's family from Greece are in town for Lucas' baptism! I'm excited to tour and hang out with family. Here's a few iPhone shots from our dinner on Sunday night kicking off this whole endeavor.  We went to dinner at Anthony's Homeport in Des Moines with Christina, Gene, Stelios (Christina's Dad) Jens, Cara, Casey, Demitra and Lucas. Demitra demonstrated what happens after too many glasses of chocolate milk (projectile vomit) , but all in all it was a good dinner.

My AZ Cousins - Jens, Casey and Cara!

Kramer was done with the walking thing.
On Friday Night, we hung out with Tim and Katherine! They have a new member of their Family ; Kramer.  We had a nice Build your Own Pizza (our favorite) dinner, lots of play time, and then a walk down the block. Kramer is full of energy and him and Seven get along pretty well. Aquaman and him on the other hand... well let's just say they'll have to grow to like eachother.

Aquaman was tuckered out from dodging Kramer all night!

See - they get along okay! *Queue the awhs...*

Gracie has been super sweet lately - I think she got word that I have kitty fever!
What a weirdo.
Last, but not least - I have a mission to find the Diet Coke bottle that says Eric, as I found the Abby one already! It's a genius marketing plan on Coke's behalf - Great job guys!

Looking forward to sharing my Kneeland family adventures with you when the weekend comes to a close! Have a SAFE and HAPPY 4th everyone!

It says ABBY!

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
