Ronnebeck Recap 2008

Since I get a big fat F for FAIL at sending out a photo with our Christmas cards this year, I thought I'd write a Christmas letter / post a bunch of Photos for "A Year of the Ronnebecks". I begin with this photo, You've seen it once this year, but I have to post it again out of pure humor and joy. It makes me giggle every time! As you can imagine taking photos with pets is difficult, but how about a Cat, a Dog and a Husband who don't love sitting still for a camera. Take that! This was born out of our photo session, It pretty much sums up our household. We have been busy people this year! We took a HUGE trip across the United States in May We flew to Boston and then drove back home to Seattle with a week long pit stop inbetween to see Family and friends. Total this year we went to 16 ballparks. In May we flew to Boston and Drove home hitting 14 ballparks between Boston and Seattle. Fenway Park (Boston, MA) Campbell’s Field (Camden, NJ) Citizen’s Bank Ballpark (Phi

New Couch!

YAY ! The Ronnebecks finally broke down and bought a new couch! After 6 furniture marts and an entire afternoon of shopping we found one that we could both agree on. We both had some prerequisites and we both sacrificed some. I don't know what to call this color, it's kind of greenish, brownish, steel grayish... Yeah, I just liked it, It's a microfiber material and we're hoping that our kitty doesn't find it scrachable , we also found out post buying it that it may or may not come with a hide-a-bed - we couldn't tell by sitting on it, so we figure it's bonus that there is one there. (maybe?) The throw pillows also come with the couch, I'm not sure that's a bonus. There are a couple mixed emotions about getting rid of our early 90's Miami vice style couch that is currently in our living room but I'm sure in the long run we're going to be happy with our purchase. The day it gets hauled away I will make sure to blog a goodbye to the ole

Christmas is Over... SAAAADDDD!!!

We had a pretty wonderful Christmas this year. Eric and I both spoiled eachother and that's kind of the fun of it. We usually spend a small amount of money and get a bunch of little gifts to put under the tree. We also then buy ourselves a "big" gift. This year we will be purchasing a couch when the weather cooperates for us to get out of the house and shop. Eric got a couple books, a couple of movies (Casino Royale & The Big Lebowski), Toys (as usual), DC Vs: Mortal Kombat for the xbox and 3 or 4 new shirts. I got a couple DVD's (Wall-e & Across the Universe), Two Cd's (Taylor Swift & Twilight Soundtrack), 3 or 4 books I wanted and a New Camera Case that I'm super excited about! All in all, I can say we're blessed with all we have! We spent the morning opening gifts and playing with them. Once 4 o'clock rolled around I started to cook our Christmas supper which included Chicken breasts, Steak, Augratin Potatoes and Peas- we basically ate a

Welcome Christmas... Christmas Day!

Christmas Eve is always a time for us to open 1 present from each other and enjoy it all day! I got Tales of Beedle Bard! It's a Harry Potter esque book for all you Muggles out there. Eric Got a set of Finger Drums... They're pretty fitting for him. We took a picture together, it's our 3rd Christmas together in Seattle. And of course a family picture, which turned out better than I could have ever expected. On Christmas Morning we spend time drinking coffee and egg nog, listening to Christmas music and opening gifts, Eric spoiled me this year with a new Camera bag, some cd's a couple books as well as Wall-E which as you can see I was VERY excited to recieve. I hope your Christmas was as magical as ours. Rejoyce in Jesus' birth! Love, Abby, Eric, Aquaman & Gracie

Merry Christmas to All!

On behalf of the Ronnebeck Family - Aquaman says "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night, and we hope that Santa Treats you right!"

Home SWEET home!

We Made our annual Sugar Cookie house last night! We went with a "loft" theme and as always added lots of embellishments! We always make gingerbread men to look like ourselves. Here's the Back of the house. It has a Snowman made of Marshmallow and a Cookie tree. Looks good enough to eat!

December Storm

It started snowing this afternoon again, but I'm happy to report that I'm home safe and sound thanks to my wonderful coworker that lives in Burien. He gave me a ride home last night afterwork and it might be a small miracle to make it into work on Monday. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I know this sound rediciulous to you whom have been living in the midwest all your life, but I'm not joking when I say that this city shuts down when it snows. The buses stop running and the stores start running out of food. A friend of mine called it the Snowpocalypse. That's pretty much what it is. Regardless, we took Aquaman out in the snow today to see how he liked running around. He was trying to eat it and loved the fluff. I also posted a picture on my Ambient Light blog of him with a snowy mouth. ( www.abbys365.blogspot.com ) I hope that this finds you warm and with your family. All my Love, abby

Hotel Sweet Hotel

I started off the afternoon by looking outside our sky bridge... It looked seemingly nice and I figured buses would be running ... if not every hour at least every hour and a half. I was deturmine to get home at some point. After standing at the bus stop for 2 and a half hours I was cold, cranky, and not a single bus had driven by our stop. There were hundreds of people standing at the stop waiting for buses and some had been there since 12; two hours prior to me. So I checked into the Sixth Avenue Inn across the street from my work. The amentities were nice... But it's not home After I went Shopping at Old Navy, Verizon and Bartell drug's to get Clothes, Underwear and toiletries I went back to the hotel and ordered Room service. I then had a slumber party with my co-worker Tacy who was also camped out at the ave. I am glad that I was safe and warm, but I'm even more deturmine to get home tonight. ♥ Abby

Snow Snow Everywhere!

I can't imagine that anyone from South Dakota is feeling bad for me as I gripe about the snowfall in Seattle. I love every flake as long as I don't have to travel. Currently I'm trying to figure out just how I'm going to get home. The buses are running late and running on alternate routes and I am stuck at work (currently). Our offices are closing at 2 pm and we're all going to venture out into the winter wonderland to get home. I am currently facing two choices, both of which may happen, I'm going to go wait for a bus that may take me near my home. OR rent a hotel room and stay put for the evening. I'll keep you posted on which one happens. The snow on the otherhand is beautiful. I have never seen so much snow in the city before. I will post the pictures I took on my way to work this morning I was enjoying it more than most! I look kind of scared in this picture, maybe it's because the bus driver that just dropped me off said "good luck getting hom

Christmas Memories...

I haven’t blogged since Sunday eve Oh-my-gosh what has this world come to? I guess we have just been really busy this week and it’s only Wednesday! Monday evening we were out and about, we went and had a nice dinner together of Indian cuisine and then went to Fred Meyer where I’m proud to announce I finished every last bit of my Christmas shopping for Eric! All but one gift is wrapped and under the Christmas tree. I can’t believe we get to open them in one week! This is so exciting! Last night was cRAVE as usual. We took the kids outside and went sledding in the little snow we have. We actually ended up sliding down this ice covered gravel hill that is out beside the church. Most kids out here don’t get to go sledding unless they head to Snoqualmie Pass – so, they were more than happy to sled with what we had. Only a couple bumps and bruises so I think we made out just fine; the bumps and bruises by the way? On my knee cap and my hip, I just had to test it out to make sure it was safe,

It's SNOWED!!!

Merry Christmas (again) from the Ronnebecks, Friday night we went to the Sheraton before my Holiday Party and looked at the "Superhero Themed" gingerbread houses! They were super fun! (haha, no pun intended) My Coworker Diane took this picture for us infront of this beautiful Christmas Tree! What a busy weekend we had! Then, we went to the hotel Andra (did I spell that right?) where we ate some yummy Tom Douglas catered food and listened to the worlds cutest Dickens Christmas Carolers! (that was my favorite part) It was nice to enjoy eachother's company outside of the office. I have such fun coworkers! Aren't they adoreable? Oh yeah, they sang pretty great too! On Saturday I went over to Jenn and Ryan Alexander's house with Mary and Katherine and helped pack up her CD for shipping. Here's a photo of my autographed copy of her NEW CD and of us double checking our work! We were SO productive! After Jenn and Ryan's we took Aquaman down to the Soggy Doggy and
