In the middle...

Just like a kid, he's in the middle of everything, all the time... Shih Tzu's are known for wanting to be in the middle of what their owner is doing, and last night it was laundry and today it's typing on the comput;lkjarelkjasd riojbgvajawer ... the computer ... thanks for th help Aquaman. Additionally... The new header picture is from our walk in the park after work last night. I really liked it so it gets to be my new banner for awhile. Happy Saturday everyone!

Abby is Free from Facebook!

In the season of Lent, the Christian tradition teaches that you should give something up in your life and fast from it to pull your attention back to GOD in this time of reflection. It reflects the time that Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and was tempted by Satan to give in. My youth were talking about what they wanted to give up and how hard it was going to be to not text “I’m just going to die if I can’t text!”. I usually never give anything up for lent, part of it was I was never raised to do so, but another part is in college I would always mean to, and would cave about 4 days into the Lenten season. So, I had to give up something that I could be held accounable for. This year, I didn’t give it much thought until one of my youth asked me what I was going to give up and challenged me to do “something good”. So after a little consideration, I’m giving up what seems like a lot of people are giving up this year; FACEBOOK. As for the accountability factor? Facebook records and p...

We come from Dust and to Dust we shall Return...

Ash Wednesday! It's the beginning of lent and the day where you'll see people all over the place with black ash on their forehead and sometimes it's hard to tell if it's supposed to be there or not. This being said, last night I was talking to some youth of mine about Lent, what they're giving up and if they're coming to Ash Wednesday service or not. One of the youth posed an interesting question to me, "what's Ash Wednesday all about?" and me being the good youth leader I am responded... "Come to church tomorrow at 7:30 to find out." After that conversation I started mulling around in my head ideas - What is Ash Wednesday all about? I had a few snippits from here and there of what I grew up with, but I had never really sought that information, more just believed it blindly like most good Christians would. So,thank you GOD for wikipedia, and for the church service that I attended this evening. Lent is 40 Days… Starting on Ash Wednesday, ...

Everyother day of the week is FINE... Yeah!

Monday Monday... So good to me... Monday mornin, it was all I hoped it would be... I can't say that Monday is a bad day today ... the only thing that edges on my mind is the fact that my dear friend Tacy is currently sitting on the beach somewhere in BFE Belieze. I can't even express how jealous I am that all she has to do this week is get out of bed and stumble to the beach to take in the quiet beauty. She was more than excited to fly out Sunday morning, so in my rage of jealousy I wish her the best vacation possible! I walked down to the photo shop and got some prints that I've been waiting for all weekend long and I'm excited to get them scrapped up on Friday night! Eric is going to be Flamingoing that evening, and will be in and out, so I'm happy to confine myself to the Scrapbooking table! I hope that this post finds you all having a lovely Monday. My Lunch is almost over and I can see my inbox overflowing ... So I better return a few minutes early! Much Love A...

Aquaman & Gracie

This is the closest thing I think I will ever get to them in a picture together... Enjoy :)

Boring ... Sorry!

Eric went to a hockey game with his friend Lee. So, it's just me and the pets tonight and an old episode of Trading Spouses (guilty pleasure). I haven't written a good blog for awhile; I started my new position at work and I've been so busy learning and working, that I haven't taken a 15 minute break all week; that's when I usually write my blogs. My new position at work is great! I didn't think I could like my job any more than I allready did, but I really love my new position and feel like it's a good fit for me. I don't really miss being at the front desk, I feel more productive and happier where I am. I hope that this post finds you well, I guess I really don't have much to talk about, it's been pretty quiet around here for a change. Last weekend was pretty busy, Eric had a friend over on Sunday and they hung out all day long, and I got a TON of scrapbooking done. I still haven't gotten my thank you notes done for my birthday ... sorry If...

Niece and Nephews Sick...

I really miss my little ones in SDak. Julie recently sent me an e-mail of the boys and it just melted my heart. I had to post and brag because these pictures are too cute not to share. The first, and oldest of my Nephews, My God Son... Carter Anthony, and his very cute toothless grin! He's getting so big! The next in the 'line up'... Troy... and his new love for his guitar. I really couldn't pick which one to post, the look at me I love my guitar and I'm cute... or... the look at me I'm badass with my guitar. and the littlest one... Kyle who was barley crawling last time I saw him. and my favorite little girl, Erica... with her BFFLE... (best friend for like ever... Duh). Shannon told me a story about how they were shopping in Claires looking for something that said BFFLE ... not just BFF. It made me laugh, and made me realize how much Erica is a little Abby. I have more to post / talk about, but just wanted to put a little photo gallery up of my favorite li...

A Love Story...

Even though I think that Valentines day is the worst holiday ever invented, I am not a complete Scrooge, so I am posting about our evening. We started out by meeting the Olesons for hot wings at Hooters for our annual anti-Valentines Day wing eating! It's a fun way to share the holiday and hope to continue the tradition for many years to come, because what's more Anti-Valentines day than Hooters? Eric and I have been talking about going down to the waterfront for quite a while. Here's where the "love story" kicks in, so you understand our LOVE for the waterfront in Seattle. Rewind 3 years... Eric and I had been hanging out for a while, and decided to go on our first "real" date. We went to the waterfront to have supper and pick out some ticky -tacky tourist items to complete my "Seattle themed" kitchen decor I was going for. We wandered into the Bay Pavilion part of the Waterfront, It's full of arcade games and a huge indoor carousel . W...

Happy Birthday To me ... Photos like I promised.

Hello blog readers! I have neglected my posts with photographs because I have been pretty busy this week, and can't really pin point where and why that happened. I did want to show you a few highlights from my birthday and if you look on http://www.abbys365.blogspot.com/ it will show you one of my bunches of flowers I recieved for my big day from one of my co-workers. And as a side note to my cousin Amanda - No I'm not shooting film, I just flubbed and said "Develop" as opposed to "Print" I haven't shot Film in AGES... On to the photos of my birthday, This is the basket of flowers that I recieved from Eric in the afternoon at work. I was super excited to get daisy's because they're my favorite! When I got home, I got to play with the gift that was left at the front door for me the morning of. I know that I turned 25 but I'm a little kid who likes stuffed animals, Eric bought me a Penguin from Build-a-Bear. His name is Chilly Cheeks... and I...

Bad Bad Birthday Blogger...

Sorry guys I haven’t updated with birthday pictures yet! My bad! I have taken them in for developing but haven’t had time to upload them. I will report in with all the wonderful birthday details when I am able to upload the photos. Hope you’re doing well!

Weekend Wonderland!

We were really busy this weekend, but it was a good kind of busy. Friday night we went up to North gate to visit our good friends Ivan and Dawn. We had an Italian feast and watched Pineapple Express, which with my good visiting friends manors I fell asleep halfway through. 5 am is too early to get up, and then start a movie at 9 pm. Ugh. Either way, it was so good to see them, it had been quite a while since we were able to hang out and we're hoping that we will get to see each other next weekend again! On the way home, I was trying to get a cool picture of the city, but moving car + low light = blurry pictures. I did get this one of "pill hill" that I was pretty pleased with. Saturday we ran errands and cleaned house because Sunday we were expecting kids to come over and play video games. In the evening we went to Kelly's birthday party. I told her that it was nice of her to throw me a birthday party since her birthday wasn't till the 15 th and mine was on Mon...

Blogging is how I spend my time!

I am trying to write a message about time management for cRAVE tonight: How do you spend your time? Does the way you spend your time Glorify God? The really ironic part about this is that I’ve been doing any and most everything to avoid writing it. I have even entertained the thought of winging it, and completely convinced myself that by blogging I will get some creative juices flowing- I am somewhat delusional. I guess what the whole idea of this message boils down to, is how are you spending your time? I realized as I was brainstorming for this, is after I spend my time more “unplugged” the better I feel the next day or later in the day. For example, a couple weeks ago Eric and I took Aquaman out to play fetch in the park. For that entire day I felt good about our family, and the time we had spent together. I still smile when I think about that day. So, here I go… to write my message for cRAVE… wish me luck I only have a few hours now that I’ve wasted my entire lunch hour, eating, ch...

My Funny Faces...

Nights at home with my family make for a Happy Abby. Here's my boys comparing their underbites. They always make me laugh.

Happy Groundhog Day!

The results are in and apparently Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow... according to legend this means we'll see 6 more weeks of winter. If "winter" is anything like today, we'll take it! It's 54 degree's and sunny in Seattle (shocker- I know). However for those of you who are sitting at -4 in South Dakota you're probably cursing that nasty shadow that Phil saw. Either way, I love Groundhog Day and often I will watch the Bill Murray movie to commemorate such an event. I don't know if we'll do that tonight but I'll suggest you do! I hope you're all keeping warm! Since 1886, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, has failed to see it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The last time Phil didn't see his shadow was in 1999. So keep praying for no shadow for next year :o) ♥ abby
