Happy Birthday To me ... Photos like I promised.

Hello blog readers!
I have neglected my posts with photographs because I have been pretty busy this week, and can't really pin point where and why that happened. I did want to show you a few highlights from my birthday and if you look on http://www.abbys365.blogspot.com/ it will show you one of my bunches of flowers I recieved for my big day from one of my co-workers.
And as a side note to my cousin Amanda - No I'm not shooting film, I just flubbed and said "Develop" as opposed to "Print" I haven't shot Film in AGES...

On to the photos of my birthday,

This is the basket of flowers that I recieved from Eric in the afternoon at work. I was super excited to get daisy's because they're my favorite!

When I got home, I got to play with the gift that was left at the front door for me the morning of. I know that I turned 25 but I'm a little kid who likes stuffed animals, Eric bought me a Penguin from Build-a-Bear. His name is Chilly Cheeks... and I'm in Love.

Eric also took me out to dinner, took me shopping at Michaels with a gift card I recieved from my most fabulous co-worker Tacy and then when we got home he finished frosting the cake he made me. He worked so hard at it. I was so impressed - he's normally not much of a baker, but he can cook better than Bobby Flay (almost).

He even bought special candles, and assured me that we'd get our money's worth out of them because I will be using them again when I turn 52.

And here I am again, I wanted a picture of me and my birthday gift. And the twinkle lights to the left of my head? Yes, we still have our Christmas white lights up. We're pretending they're "Winter" Lights.

Again, I just really like the way this one turned out, Good job Eric!

Everyone in our house gets to try on Eric's glasses!

It was a really great birthday! I was very spoiled and loved all day! I couldn't imagine a better birthday. I really appreciate all my family, friends and co-workers who helped me celebrate!
Happy Wednesday to all! ♥ abby

Don't worry. Our christmas lights are still up too. Our is because we put up our lights then we plasticed our windows. Therefore the lights are between the plastic and the window and we are not taking the plastic down just to get the lights out. (althougth I know the boys would like it if we did cause they miss sitting in the window) but it's just too cold to un-plastic yet!!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
