I never thought 3 years ago that the love of my life would come and sweep me off my feet and a year later we’d be married.
Eric and I celebrate 2 years today! What a wonderful 2 years it’s been! I don’t even know what to type, my heart just smiles knowing that there are so many more wonderful years to come!
Last year on our anniversary I dug out the photo albums and oohed and awhed over the photos and memories – I can’t believe how many wedding photos we have and we didn’t even hire a photographer!
I also dug out the VHS recording of our wedding taped by Jason. Jason was so kind to tape our wedding. That being said … Jason really REALLY liked to tape the boutonnieres that I had made for the wedding party I think it’s safe to say we have at least 5 recorded minutes of the flowers. I may have never introduced Jason to Eric (or mentioned he’d be taping) because at one point in the tape you can see Eric look up at the camera and the words out of his mouth and nod said “who is that” to which all his groomsmen turn around look at the camera and shrug. Jason also took the time to interview our guests as they made their way down to the wedding – most of whom said their love, a few cried and one offered babysitting services! I love that video and all of its quirks. I have to sadly report that I will not be watching the video this year … For one, I think it will be better to let age, and say 8 years from now take it out and laugh at it again… for two, we don’t currently have our VCR hooked up, and that’s essential.
This year, I plan to be with the man I love, our pets and snuggled into our home. It feels so good to have such a great home to go to every night, I’m always so excited to get off the bus and run like hell just to be home!
Today I must say I truly am married to my best friend, my perfect companion and the love of my life!Happy Anniversary… here’s to many MANY more years together!
All the love in the world, Abby

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
