In 2002 when I graduated high school my Grandma Myla gave me this quilt as my graduation gift. I wish I had a picture to show you what it looked like in 2002 as that was when all of my journeys in life were about to begin and Grandma more or less "Started me off" with things she knew about my High School career and life. Grandma left blank squares so I naturally assumed she wanted me to add to it! I've added so much to this quilt and since I'm useless with cross stitch and puffy paints I've added to it with Sharpies! It's nice to use a readily available medium as this quilt has gone many places with me and many people from all walks of life have signed my quilt.
I want to document the work that I've been doing on my quilt, because everytime I lay down on my living room floor to draw on it my heart fills with wonderful memories. I am excited for Kathy, Brenda and Mom to get out here, so I can add their love to my beloved quilt. My heart also fills with annoyance because this little guy insists on laying right in the middle of whatever it is I'm drawing.
But how could you not love that face? I loved it so much that I added that too to my memory quilt. I won't bore you with the details of my quilt, as I started to type and then realized that it would only be to my benefit and annoy everyone else. I will proudly show it off to anyone who asks to see it though!
Thank God for all my memories, and a beautiful way to display them.
