A couple months ago Julie (My boss) mentioned that she was having our team speak at our Annual Conference. I didn't really think about it much after she first mentioned it. I put it in the very back of my thoughts as I had a lot of other crazy thoughts occupying my brain. I had typed up my outline, practiced a few times, and figured that If I didn't know what to say about what I do at work, we had bigger problems than public speaking.
It wasn't until I opened the door to this room, and started to let people in, that I was going to be speaking in front of them. It made my knees knock and my hands shake. The next thing I knew I was up in front talking about client information forms like a pro. I didn't even faint though I kind of felt like throwing up. The room was incredibly hot, and there were a lot of questions that were deferred to Julie, cause, well, she's the boss; but all in all it was a great experience, and I'll be quick to volunteer to do it again next year; not that I had much of a choice this year. ;o)
Yay for Something New!
