Derby... Derby... Derby!

I am a far cry from a Derby Girl but I can't get derby off my brain, so I did what all normal people would do... GO SKATING! Okay, so maybe it's far from sane, but I had a blast, and outside of being dreadfully sore and tired I sit here feeling good with a big goofy smile on my face. Eric took me to Pattisons West to skate my heart out, and I did. My shins, thighs, and knees KILL. After obtaining my quads I laced up, and stepped on the rink and immediately fell on my butt. It looked like something out of a cartoon my feet and arms windmilled out of control, and I landed. Glad I got that embarrassment out right away! With every 6 year old in the place lapping me, I made my way around and around, and when I got tired, I stopped, and visited with Eric. He would nudge me back to the rink, and I would skate some more. I have to say that I had a great time... maybe my new Wednesday night evening activity!

Skates Anyone?

Does anyone have a pair of these sitting in their closet that need a new home? I'm looking for a size 9.5 or 10. I have checked out Craigslist, and ebay, but I'm not really ready to lay down $40 for a pair, or a $100 for a NEW pair - who knew skates were so expensive? So I thought I'd turn to you my loyal blog readers as you havne't steered me wrong yet! Random. I know. I am headed to Pattison's west today after work to skate for a little while. I'm totally excited! Such a nerd. Love, Abby

Wishery

A little something for all you Disney fans out there...  This blows my mind... and I LOVE IT! My Co-worker Gregg pointed this out to me today, I can't get enough...

The things that make my day...

My Kitty, who is now a contributing member of the Ronnebeck society... snuggled in my place on the couch, hogging the remote! And something new I've started... Coffee with God every morning. It takes 7 minutes, and improves my attitude 10 fold.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I can't get roller derby off my mind. I have been reading books, Buying tickets, and wanting to roller skate. I've been walking around the house chanting "Derby, Derby, Derby!", true story, ask my husband. 2. I am thrilled that I scored $60 worth of costume accessories for $20 last night. 3. I am going to hang out with Megan tonight - WOOT! 4. I have backed off the white mocha train.... I have a new love for black coffee with a little sugar and half and half - My butt thanks me. 5. I am also turning the corner with the junkfood train, I'm an addict. 6. I have started working out again... ugh ... Legs hurt... So... Bad. 7. My bummer days are behind me. I have been rating my days an 8 out of 10 recently, so that's positive. 8. I think it's funny that I've tried to type this 3 times now and it still looks weird to me. Need break! 9. I am getting a cold. and it sucks. 10. I received the funniest e-mail ever this morning... Long story short, we pranked m

Weekendness

We had such a great weekend! It was the kind of weekend that makes me sigh with happiness instead of frustration! I will try not to blather on about it too much because then my Ten on Tuesday will totally suck. But here are some highlights. Friday night random errand night which included Michaels, Claim Jumper and a profitable stop at Game Stop. Eric turned some of our unused games into $40 store credit at Game Stop! WOOT! Saturday Morning we went down to Blue Vanilla Bakery... yummm. I brought my camera in high hopes that I'd be a picture snapping fool, but then it started to rain, and my camera spent the entire journey in my pouch of my hoodie - BOOOO! Saturday Afternoon? Baked Chocolate Coffee Frosted cookies, my best batch to date! Checked out Fast Girl Skate Shop in Wallingford. We stopped by to get tickets to the next RCRG's Bout, but really it left me chanting "Derby, Derby, Derby" all night long. That being said, I got to pick up my NEW OWLY Book at the Com

Organic - Products I Love

So... my skin has been FREAKING OUT! I touch anything and I break out from head to toe.. where did this come from? I have tried nearly everything, with failure I turn to 100% Organic things... Thank GOD I live in Washington - there's a plethora of "Granola" ways to treat everything! My dear friend Katherine knows of my skin conditions and gave me this for my birthday... I'm in Love. It's unscented ... and 100% Vegan - Let's see what my skin thinks of that! It's from Ballard Organics! Then, Eric and I stumbled upon this at the market... We love their Honey, Moon Valley also produces a variety of balms and salves that are heavenly for Psoriasis and dry skin. They also make a Wound Aide that kicks Neosporin's butt! Thank you Moon Valley Last, but not least... Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle shampoo... what a lifesaver. Normally, I can't make it through a bottle of shampoo without my scalp burning, but so far so good on this one, though maybe it&

He's Good Like That...

I found this picture on my phone and realized I hadn't posted it... Yet. My husband brought me this last week - Wednesday I think, to make me smile, because red velvet is my favorite... and the cupcakes at Blue Vanilla rock! Thank you Husband... you're the best!

Ten on Tuesday

I'm trying to keep my smile on my face, really I am. I am trying to be a happier person, really, I am. I am trying to keep my frown from turning upside down, really, I am. My positive attitude has been lost somewhere inside of me, and I'm working on it. Eric made some bread pudding this week, and WOW, it's so good. I am falling increasingly in love with the Protein plate from Starbucks, I can almost NOT resist buying it for breakfast. Why do I keep talking about food? Oh ... because I LOVE it - and I have started working out again. Which is slowly but surely coming along. Aquaman and Gracie are the best pets in the universe. Gracie is coming around in leaps and bounds and she is making me incredibly happy - and my dog is so cute, let's just face it. ROLLERDERBY ROCKS MY WORLD - I am waiting on two books (and one documentary) to come in to the Des Moines Library so I can read up! I'm psyched! Mom is having a decent week - that makes me smile. My new phone is kic

The Dog Days are Over....

These pictures make me think of THIS song... Florence and the Machine makes me happy - they're crazy cool. I digress... on to the doggy part... Kat gave me a call and asked if Aquaman, Eric and I wanted to go to the Doggy park with her, Cosmo and Seven. We were kind of aching to get outside because it was actually pretty nice outside. Here's Seven, we're going to call this BM (Before Mud)... How do you even stop a dog from getting into mud when they're having THIS much fun!!! Speaking of Mud - Cosmo dines on his favorite snack... fresh Mud. He's such a funny puppy! Again with the Mud... these two had us giggling the whole walk down to the doggy park. Kat does such a great job wrangling them! This picture of Seven totally cracks me up... I love how his tongue is hanging out! This little one actually did pretty well at the dog park. His normal disposition is to bark and growl at every dog that passes by... you know because he's "tough". But we got him g

Rat City Rollergirls!!!!!

I have been dying to go to a Rat City Rollergirls bout for awhile now, so when the conversation came up between Megan, Eric W and me at work, I was more than happy to help organize a work party at the next bout! We decided to sit in the Grave Danger cheering section as Molly (one of my co-workers) had been to a few bout's and she really liked the jammer for Grave Danger. So, I told the crew to wear some red and black to support our cheering section, and Patsy did not disappoint! We had 24 people in our group. Thanks for coming everyone! Grave Danger beat the Derby Liberation Front 156 to 85. We were excited! Their jammer, ReanimatHER was awesome! By this time of the night, I was completely transfixed on all things derby - I love me some flat track! Here's Grave Danger taking their victory lap and giving the DLF a "good game" Megan, Myself and Eric W [aka: the Berginator] Then the second bout started which was the Throttle Rockets and the Socket Wenches. They both rock
