Sunny Day, Shaggy Dog.

I don't know what's longer, the grass in the field by our house, or his shaggy hair... or his epic leap.  It's a big leap for a little dog ! Today was beautiful. Spring cleaning and playing in the park ... topped off with a McFlurry from McDonalds. Heaven. Thank you GOD for an amazing Sunny Saturday in Seattle.... More please!

Rollergirl Fame

Last night I had a "skate date" with my new favorite Rat City Rollergirl - Sandra. She's awesome! She let me ask 3 million plus one questions about Derby, and we had a great time rolling in circles. I don't think this is the last you'll see of me at the SouthGate Rink, it's pretty sweet! Oh and those new skates? KILLER! Also, falling on your butt hurts... must. buy. butt. pads.

Ten on Tuesday

1- I'm nearing 700 posts on R for Ronnebeck - who knew I had so much to say over the past 3 years! 2- Tonight I'm going to try out my New Skates! I am super excited, because I get to try them out skating next to a real live Derby girl... yeah it's a big deal :). 3- I'm so sick of HAM! I ate ham Twice on Sunday, and then yesterday. I think I'll have a sabbatical for lunch today and then back at it tomorrow - leftovers don't go down without a fight. 4- I don't have much to say today - weird. I thought I'd be pouring out and pretty soon we'd be at Twenty on Tuesday... but not so much. 5- On Saturday we had our Bazaar - it was super slow... $60 was raised from our table for the American Cancer Society though - that's not terrible. 6- If you'd like to donate to the American Cancer Society / Relay for Life here's my Link!  I'm only 36% of the way to my goal... I NEED HELP!!! 7- My Boss is back from Hawaii - I missed her... glad

Easter

Jesus Christ Is Risen Today Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia! Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia! Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia! Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia! Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia! Unto Christ, our heavenly king, Alleluia! Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia! Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia! But the pains which he endured, Alleluia! Our salvation have procured; Alleluia! Now above the sky he’s king, Alleluia! Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia! Sing we to our God above, Alleluia! Praise eternal as his love; Alleluia! Praise him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia! Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia!

Friday Fun!

I sure do love sunny days when my city looks like this...  Eric and I woke up relatively early and headed to Blue Vanilla for some tasty treats and then up to Wallingford. I really wanted to check out Fast Girl Skates and see if I could purchase a pair so I don't have to rent at the rinks anymore. After spending a good hour in there, we went over to the Comics dungeon for a little while, and then to Dicks Drive-in for some delicious hamburgers, fries, and shakes!  Dicks is kind of a Seattle institution - good food, better prices!  I did end up with a new pair of roller-skates .  I'm thrilled, and can't wait to hit the rink!

My Puppy is 3!

Our photo shoot can be wrapped up by looking at the picture above. You can only bribe a dog so much.  I like to take a picture of my pets on their birthdays so I can have one picture to compare them to year after year to see what they looked like - yes it's slightly weird how much I love my pets, but deal. Here's Aquaman's 3rd birthday picture... He's over the hat after the last year, so it just sat next to him. Oh sweet boy, I love you.

Spring Craft Bazaar

There will be a spring craft bazaar benefiting the American Cancer Society / Highline Relay for Life at Normandy Park Senior Living on Saturday April 23rd at 9:30AM - 3:30 PM. Our Relay team THE HOPE CORPS will have a table there selling random crafts and creations we've collected over the past few months from our very talented friends and family. Please come take a look, and shop around! Hope to see you there! ♥ Abby

Happy 3rd Birthday Aquaman!

Oh this face... Makes me smile... Every day! He's 3 today, in a couple month's we'll celebrate 3 years of having him in our home since I first fell in love with him through the picure above (he's on the right).  My computer wasn't cooperating today, but His 3rd birthday picture is coming - tomorrow likely.... but here he was last year.  He's such a funny little guy - and has added a lot of joy to our lives! Happy Birthday my sweet puppy. You're the best!

Ten on Tuesday

Oh Tuesday - you vex me greatly!!! Or maybe it was just the alarm clock? Why is it so hard to get going midweek? A little slice of Derby heaven? My husband went out to walk around the concourse before the first bout and brought me back an amazing Rat City Rollergirls Track jacket - I love it, I love him. Last night was a mix of frustration and relaxation - the frustrating part? running 6 blocks to catch a bus, the relaxation part? Sitting on the couch while Eric cooked me dinner. Shannon and Erica finally got their birthday gifts yesterday - over a month late. Yes, I'm timely like that. Gracie was hanging out on the couch loving on me last night and get this, PURRING! I am wearing shiny silver tights today - Yep I'm 6, I wear tights... so what. Eric went to a Rainier's game on Sunday with John, I got SO MUCH DONE for our CRAFT BAZAAR coming up this Saturday Why is Passion/Holy week always so busy?  Skating at Pattisons tomorrow - Whoop Whoop! Note to self : when us

Just another Manic TAX DAY

So... Today April 18th 2011 is TAX DAY - you know the day when people storm the post office and request their IRA contributions to be made IMMEDIATELY. It makes for a crazy day any ways, coupled with the fact that it's Monday had this song running through my head - but I added my own frustrations/trials in the ('s) ... Hope you enjoy your Manic Monday/Tax Day - and hope your taxes are all ready sent! Six o'clock already (More like 4:30am) I was just in the middle of a dream I was kissin' Valentino (Or my Husband) By a crystal blue Italian stream But I can't be late (Ever) 'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid (Or I'd be behind because it's tax day!) These are the days When you wish your bed was already made It's just another manic Monday (TAX DAY) I wish it was Sunday 'Cause that's my funday My I don't have to runday It's just another manic Monday (TAX DAY) Have to catch an early train Got to be to work by ni

Derby!

Tonight Eric and I went to the Rat City Rollergirls 4th Bout of the year! The Rain of Terror (the "B" squad) took on the " Brusing Altitude " of Denver and the Rat City Rollergirl All Stars played against the B.ay A.rea D.erbygirls from San Fransico. We (Rat City) lost both bouts, but they were REALLY exciting bouts! I can't get enough derby!    Here's Rat Bastard - the Rat City Mascot.     I wish this wasn't so blurry - but It is what we've got!!

A Happy Surprise

This morning after a walk and coffee Eric and I were hanging out on the couch when I got a call from my brother. My brother is not much for talking on the phone, so I was happy to answer the call. He was playing on his computer... with SKYPE! We then managed to call each other and talk via Skype and I got to see the boys & Julie too! What a wonderful start to a Saturday - I miss them :)

The Coworkers!

Working a 9-5 (or in my case 6:45-:15) job isn't as easy as it sounds. Sometimes you get tired of telling different people the same old rules every day, but having a group of co-workers like this is what makes it wonderful! This week we celebrated my Boss Julie's 50th birthday - we would have celebrated on her actual birthday but she's headed to Hawaii for the week to celebrate... the nerve. On Tuesday night we decorated her office in mostly black and purple, it raised the bar for decorating bosses offices for the rest of our office that's for sure. Then, today when we decided to take her out for lunch we also decided that we were going to dress in all black. The funny thing is, she didn't notice. It wasn't until lunch that we revealed to her that we were wearing all black to celebrate her birthday - and then the light bulb went on. The funnier part is that she pretty much participated without even trying. See that? All black with a white coat. I digress... The

Ten on Tuesday

1- Is it Tuesday all ready? Seems like I just posted 10 on Tuesday yesterday. I'm a bit dry today, so hang in there with me. 2- I did nothing this weekend. I repeat, NOTHING. I successfully watched an entire season of True Blood on Saturday Evening / Sunday Morning. NOTHING. 3- The Bright side of doing NOTHING this weekend - it kind of felt like a vacation. For the first time in months I've felt refreshed headed back to work on Monday Morning. 4- It's my boss Julie's big 5-0 next week, she's going to be out of town - madness begins this week! Muahahaha! 5- The orange creature that lives in my house and I got in a tiff this morning - she hissed, I flicked her in the nose, we both walked away angry. Yes, I still love her, and I didn't flick her hard, just enough to let her know who's REALLY the boss in this household. 6- I slid into Top Pot on my way to work this morning to get some doughnuts for my husband, because he LOVES Top Pot and has been reminding

For Jack

This is Easter in our hallway. After making THIS for Jack (our dear beloved neighbor) I couldn't say no when he asked for me to make a new one for Easter. Not bad for a few minutes with my scrap paper box!

Prayers for Mapleton

Incase you haven't heard, 60% of the town of Mapleton, Iowa was taken down via Tornado. My Best friend Heidi's Dad's family lives in Mapleton and all seem to be okay with minimal damnage to their homes. Send your prayers to Mapleton as they start to clean up and rebuild.

Rare Moments

All four of us on the couch today... It's becoming less of a rare instance these days. Gracie has finally decided she likes us and that she wants to be an operational part of the family - and Aquaman Can't turn down a good lap with a fleece blanket, so it doesn't take much to get them both on the couch these days. This makes me happy. So. Very. Happy.

Ten on Tuesday

1- Mom's benefit was a HUGE success... Thank you to everyone who contributed. It means the world to all of us. Julie sent me this picture of the "grandkids" ...It makes me smile - I love these kids! 2- I'm feeling a bit grumpy today - Not sure what hit me, but maybe I need to head for the coffee. 3- I took yesterday off after working out the past 5 days in a row, it felt good - today is going to suck though. 4- RELAY FOR LIFE SPRING BAZAAR is on April 23rd at Normandy Park Senior Living - It's a fundraiser for Team Hope Corps , hope you can make it! 5- Aquaman got a bath last night and managed to scratch me 100 ways from Sunday, got me good on my face, thankfully this morning it was not as noticeable as it was last night. 6. I managed to find out more about my Sewing machine - it's a J 185, then My Computer contracted a virus, and it's now at the geek squad... BOOOOOOO. 7- Eric made homemade Cinnamon rolls on Sunday night - mmmmmmh breakfast. 8- I scored
