Healthy Eating

I'm horrible at it.
Terrible actually, I have great intentions, but when it boils down to it I would rather have nachos than carrots, I mean who wouldn't?

A couple months ago, right after I got home from South Dakota in June, I discovered I am lactose intolerant. I can eat/drink dairy, but when I do It makes me feel gross.

So I've decided instead of eating a bunch of Lactase pills every day to keep it under control, I'd actually try to cut a little dairy out of my diet. So instead of the Lactase being the rule, it would be the exception to the rule.

This weekend Katherine and I went to PCC which is a natural food store in our area. There is about 6 of them in a 20 mile radius of me, which is nice. I looked for things that are an alternative to dairy, one thing I really miss about dairy is my morning snack of Yogurt and granola.  So I found Amande which is a yogurt made of Almond Milk and despite my sheltered tastes I really like it! I can't wait to pick up more! My dear friend Mariya will be so proud!

Very proud!! It's amazing what the body is capable of if we give it what it wants and needs ( as well as not giving it things that it has a hard time digesting) I m you'll start to notice little differences and Hopfylly feel better ( not as sluggish) I have never seen to try the almond yogurt, I'll have to double check all my local stores.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
