My Grandpa Harvey is 86 years old.
He's tired.
Tired of being sick, tired of fighting just to wake up every morning and tired of being sick and tired.
He told Grandma something similar yesterday Morning.
Today his blood pressure dropped so low, Grandma called the Doctor, and the Doctor said, well, we can send an ambulance, or we can make him comfortable.
Grandpa asked Grandma to just let him be, and to not call the ambulance. He is ready to go, if God calls him home.
It makes me sad, but mostly for Grandma, I will miss my Grandpa if / when he gets called home but I am sad for her. They have been married for 55 years. What a shining example of love.
I'm thinking about you a lot tonight Grandpa Harv... If God calls you home, Go. You have fought hard, and you have lived a good long life, and you will be SO missed.
And I will never eat a slice of apple pie without thinking of your words...
