Gallbladder Surgery!

We went in on Tuesday morning at 7 and I finally got rolled back into surgery around 10:30, they asked me all sorts of questions, ran some tests, and got me prepped for surgery in that time. Eric was good comic relief. Once they took me back into surgery, he went out and ran some errands, and got some coffee because we left home so early! I came out of surgery and recovery around 1 and we were home by about 2:30. A really quick procedure all things considered.  I got a call this afternoon from my surgeon's assistant telling me that my surgeon has requested an additional procedure because I still have remaining gallstones in my bile duct. That procedure is called an ERCP and I will have it done on Wednesday of next week. Should be just a day procedure and the nurse said that I should be able to be back at work the following day.  So, healing here is slow moving, but positive. Every day and it seems like every hour feels better. Except for when I sneezed ea

Our Youth

Eric and I did a lot of youth Mentoring but these girls in this class have always been very special to us! This was Eric's first class of 7th Grade Sunday School he taught and some of the same faces were in my summer youth program during my internship. They make us smile and it is so fun to see the beautiful young ladies they all turned into. Last night we went to Katie's wedding reception and for the first time since their graduation we were all together again. Naomi, Katie, Hailee, Christina and Eleanor... We love you and our hearts are so full! This last photo is a reference from their senior year in Mexico!  The Bride and Groom! The Old Gang! Our Selfie Naomi & AJ This guy... ♥

Something New | Stand Up Comedy.

To add to my collection of "Something New" we went to see Stand-Up Comedy last night. I have seen it many times on TV, but I have never been to a live one! So, last night Tim, Kat, Eric and I went to Jim Gaffigan. He's a funny dude. I left with my cheeks hurting and my voice horse from laughing so hard! Thanks for a Fun Night Olesons! In other news... I'm ghastly tired today! (got home at 12 and up at 3:45 for work UGH). TGIF!!!

New Way of Life... as a Celiac.

I have been writing... re-writing this post for a couple months. On May 7th I was officially diagnosed by my doctor with Celiac Disease. Up to my diagnosis I had pretty much figured out what was making me sick... so in layman terms - I can't eat Gluten, but it goes so much deeper than that. I had been doing really good but this post is finally getting put up after Eric and I went out to eat last night and I let my guard down, and didn't ask 100 questions. Low and behold... I spent the rest of the night on the couch with a belly ache, and woke this morning with a gluten hangover. The scary part of it is that the waitress we had was really knowledgeable and seemed to be very careful about helping me pick out items. I literally leave my livelihood in someone elses hands every time I eat outside of my own home. Going to grocery stores, restaurants, happy hours, and friends houses just got so much harder. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and malt. It&

Las Vegas Part 2

"Part Two" of my Las Vegas trip kicked off after Noelle and Donna headed to the airport. I was by myself for a couple hours so I had lunch and took a tour through the Titanic Museum. Then after that I walked around the Mandalay Bay shops for awhile and waited for Dad and Lesley to call. They texted me letting me know that they were a few miles away, so I went and got my luggage from the Baggage check and headed through the Excalibur and across the street to the Tropicana where they picked me up! Dad and Leslie like to stay at Ellis Island Casino and hotel which is a Super 8 just off the strip behind Ballys. It is a nice little place and they have killer BBQ! We turned in early that night, after some gambling at the casino and got up early the next day to play! We started out the day parking at Herrahs, and got some tickets to Beatles LOVE - so that way we had a plan for the rest of the evening! I was so excited to see LOVE with Dad since he's the on
