Christmas is Over... SAAAADDDD!!!

We had a pretty wonderful Christmas this year. Eric and I both spoiled eachother and that's kind of the fun of it. We usually spend a small amount of money and get a bunch of little gifts to put under the tree. We also then buy ourselves a "big" gift. This year we will be purchasing a couch when the weather cooperates for us to get out of the house and shop.

Eric got a couple books, a couple of movies (Casino Royale & The Big Lebowski), Toys (as usual), DC Vs: Mortal Kombat for the xbox and 3 or 4 new shirts.

I got a couple DVD's (Wall-e & Across the Universe), Two Cd's (Taylor Swift & Twilight Soundtrack), 3 or 4 books I wanted and a New Camera Case that I'm super excited about!

All in all, I can say we're blessed with all we have! We spent the morning opening gifts and playing with them. Once 4 o'clock rolled around I started to cook our Christmas supper which included Chicken breasts, Steak, Augratin Potatoes and Peas- we basically ate and watched movies all day. That's what a day off is all about after all!

It's been real hectic around work. We lost one of our Coworkers to suicide this week and continue to mourn our tragic loss. I can say that being on vacation this week has really helped me clear my head about it all but am looking forward to being back with my coworkers on Monday.

The "December Storms" have kept us indoors for a large part of December. Eric and I ventured out today to cope with our Post-Christmas depression and we noticed that we hadn't driven the car in the better part of a week. That's insane even for us!

We made it out to PetSmart to make sure our pets had some food. Aquaman was officially out when we left the house today. We spoiled them for sure like usual and it was nice to just be out and have some other human interaction! We had a nice supper at Lago Azul a local Mexican resturant we love and made a trip to the grocery store - so now we are owners of multiple cans of beans (for chili of course).

Either way you can tell we've had a busy couple of days just being together around home! I will miss the down time once work is back in session but getting back to "normal" will be wonderful.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time! What did Santa bring you?
Love - Abby

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!
