Retropalooza

It took me a minute to get around to this post, I'm not sure if it's because we scored so much awesome it too me a while to find the words, or if I'm still recovering from the discovery that at one point in life there WAS a Dennis Rodman Bride Barbie. Or that at some point it was selling in stores for $35.00 OR the fact that I could buy one at this toy show for $25. Maybe I should have snagged it, there's a couple people selling them on Ebay for $60 plus claiming it's "rarity" Oh E-bay, you humor me! I digress... Let's talk about Retro Palooza! Shall we? Eric's friend Emilio and his brother Steven put on this show with some toy vendor friends of theirs. The primary items there were retro games and action figures, but it was kind of a mixed bag of toys!  We didn't spend much, but we came home with a TON of toys. I think it probably had a lot to do with the fact that we went near the end of the day, and it was pretty slow.

Comicon Art & Books 2012

This year at Comicon we had quite the haul of original art and books! I am super excited about every piece and I would rave about each artist, but really, they were all pretty great! The first up is Vinny Navarrete who is the artist of "Dear Dracula" and his new book "Sketch Monsters". Being a fan of "Dear Dracula" I was pretty excited to see  him back at the comicon for a sketch and the new book! Eric took my "Dear Dracula" book back on Sunday to get it signed, and he ended up getting another sketch - my third from Vinny. I love each one!   Scott Campbell does a lot of really cute drawings, I enjoy his art quite a bit, but when I saw one of his newest books out called "Zombie in Love" I couldn't pass it up! He drew a little zombie dog in there after he signed it! Sweet Zombie Times!    I found Ray Fawkes by complete accident last year, and ended up buyin Posessions 1 & 2 and loving the little poltergeis

On the Hunt...

I have discovered a new love in my life, and that love is Vintage Pyrex glassware. When I was little Mom had these bowls (to the Left) when we were cleaning out Mom's stuff, I took the bowls, I loved them! I use them quite a bit in my kitchen and really would like to pick up more of them! I am on the hunt for some beautiful pyrex, and I can't wait to see what awaits me out there - it's like a treasure hunt! And I found this website which shows all the patterns - http://www.pyrexlove.com/ LOVE! I grew up with the Wheat so I'm partial, but the pattern below is pretty amazing too!  And then the last photo - lots of Pyrex! Yeah!
