Ten on Tuesday

1 | I haven't been sleeping very well - in large part I'm sure to my study habits. I'm trying really hard to do yoga, or take a nice long relaxing bath before I crawl into bed to turn my mind off, but somehow I still end up "working" most of the night. Last night I had dreams about one of my former co-workers and my boss trying to re-hire her (she was former for a reason). I kept trying to talk her out of rehiring her... it was a long night.

2 | Eric brought my New to me bike home on Sunday from Uncle Gene's house. I can't wait to get to work re-furbishing it so I can go for a ride. It needs a lot of NEW things... like wheels. Details.

3 | Tim's becoming ordained this weekend. Talk about a life event!

4 | May is basically gone all ready. I know that sounds pretty defeatist considering the 1st isn't even here yet... But... We have the weekends of the 3rd, 10th (the week of the 12-14) and the weekend of the 24th all booked up. Guess my every other weekend housecleaning schedule is going to have to take a leap.

5 | Studying has been going well, somehow I'm finding the gas to get it done.

6 | My Dad is taking his Real Estate exam this month or next month, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him, I know how much it sucks to have to re-take an exam.

7 | Aquaman has been loving our reading corner in our house, the sun comes through at just the right angle so he can lay down on our ottoman and enjoy the sun!

8 | Gracie is kind of angry we won't let her outside, but if you've seen the size of birds and heard about the occasional Coyote that walks through our neighborhood, you'd keep her inside too.

9 | I had happy hour with my co-workers Georgia & Dawn on Friday night, we had a blast. Let me tell you, Georgia is a tough one to keep up with at 72 years old. Tequilla shots all around!

10 | In conjunction with #9 I think that The Athenian in the market is my new favorite happy hour place.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!
