The Little Things

John came to visit!!!
 So,
This week month has been a little rough on me.

June.

I think every year will probably be the same, but each year I anticipate nothing, and get smacked with a whole lot of depression, anxiety and tears.

June is the month that holds one of my favorite celebrations (our anniversary) and my least favorite memories (losing Mom).

It's nearly over, Friday is the 3rd anniversary of her passing, I anticipate tears, and sadness, but I also am trying to anticipate smiles, and good memories.

I've been trying to appreciate the little and good things in life... and here are a few memories from my iPhone to make it through... Thanks for your support.

A new Mantra....

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

It's beginning ...

I have a co-worker (*ahem Mindy) who is a firm believer in not moving on to the next holiday until the last one is over. I normally subscribe to this belief as well. However, our mileage varies with Fall/Halloween since I believe that September 1 st is the official kick off to the fall quarter, and hence fall leaves shall be displayed! Mindy grumbles and would argue that no leaves shall see the light of day until September 21st, and so, early in our co-workership we reached an agreement that I will put up fall one leaf at a time, which means a slow onset of the fall season for her, and a little taste of the season for me. We’ve worked together 7 years and haven’t killed each other yet, so It’s my belief that it works for us. However, I should point out that ONE of us has a Snowman on our desk from last year still, and it's not me. This year, for whatever reason. October 31 st came and went without much celebration and I can’t hide my Christmas pride right now! I normally h...
