The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

It's officially here!

I love this time of year... CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Feast with the Olesons!

Our tradition! We love going to the Olesons!

Thankful...

I normally have a really long thoughtful post for Thanksgiving. I am not so sure I have that in me today, but a little bit of thankful for a day that is dedicated to it. I am Thankful for... My husband - Eric and I have made a great little life here together, and I am happy every day. My siblings - I know we're so far away from each other, but we've been through a lot and we've stuck together. My momma - who is in a better place, but left me with such strong and wonderful memories and traditions. My dad - who has finally found his beat in life. My grandparents - Nielsen AND Kneeland, miss my Nielsen grandparents, but love that my Kneeland grandparents are loving life on their farm. My extended family - they are wild and crazy and I love them all. My pets - they both keep me on my toes and make me feel so loved, unconditionally. My  job - somedays are up and others down, but always I am thankful for the company I work for and the people I work with. My life - and

Friends

Aquaman used to be afraid of him.... Now he and Seven are friends!!

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!

FaceTime !!!

With the purchase of my new iPhone yesterday I gained the ability to FaceTime with Shannon and Erica! We had fun talking today and they took me on a tour of their house! Thank you technology!!!

Crafty...

I used to be one of the craftiest people around. I always had a project or 5 on the horizon and things I wanted and NEEDED to do. They sometimes would come out AMAZING and other times, a little lack luster, but always it was therapeutic. Know what I've discovered? Pinterest may have ruined my creative streak. I used to be able to look at something and craft it into whatever I wanted it to be, and try something new, and see if it worked. Now, I think of something I've "Seen on Pinterest before" and then take a couple stabs at it and end up a little disappointed that it didn't turn out like the pro-crafty posts on Pinterest. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE Pinterest, I just might try to stay away from it a little more. I need my crafty streak back. I worked on a couple projects tonight - one of which is a Christmas gift for my Relay people, which you'll have to wait till the 11th of December to see... but I'll get the other one posted as soon

Weekend O' Theater

I didn't really realize until last week just how jam packed my weekend was going to be. I even took Monday off to recover from the craziness. It actually turned out fairly relaxed, but I am glad that I have the extra day anyways, I need it. Friday night started off with Happy Hour with Dawn. We walked down to our old trusty Sazerach to have potato balls and visit, but they were closed to a private party - BOO! So we headed to The Rock Bottom Brewery instead and had some tasty food! I walked her to the light rail, and walked around Forever 21 for awhile, which shamefully is one of my new favorite stores (sigh). After that I met Mindy at the 5th Avenue theater to see the Addams Family Musical ! Being the Halloween nut that I am, I loved it! Without Mindy's persistence and wanting to see it, I don't know if I would have gotten through the door, but that's cause I'm a procrastinator like that! So, Thank you Mindy! One of my favorite parts of the show was th

The Election...

I have to say, I didn't have much vested in this election, and I'll stay off my soap box because, this isn't really a place to discuss politics or force my views on you, but it's such a huge part of our lives, I thought I'd touch a little on it. One major "issue" that Washington state voted on this year was gay marriage. Having grown up in a state where an open gay person was a little bit of an anomaly I wasn't sure how to approach this vote, and every single news story was centered around this, and the "for" guys were so well put together and funded. Then I bumped into this organization, the People of Faith who approve 74 (gay marriage referendum). And, really, I guess I more feel like it's a civil rights issue, and not really a political issue, what "bad" does it do me if gay people want to get married? That's their issue / want / lifestyle. I am happy to be supportive of basic human rights. And though I didn&#

I was going to do that on my blog, but I'm already 5 days behind, and I think I post about being thankful often, so I'm gonna go ahead and neglect that this year. 6| I have a total itch for another photography session, perhaps one out in the leaves... any takers? 7| This weekend will be even crazier...
