On the Move... Still!

This weekend was the weekend that we moved all of our "Big" stuff. How exhausting. We got most of our boxes, and most of our large(r) furniture out of our house, and now we're left with odds and ends, and no plates or dishes. *sigh... Moving. We took a lot of trips with our Fit, and I'm pretty surprised / impressed at how much that little guy can haul. It's such a teeny car, but we could take 16-20 boxes at any given time. Which is impressive! We more or less filled our large storage unit, and now we're in a holding pattern for a week till we move in with Tim and Kat. Though, Aquaman got some quality bonding time with his new roommates on Friday...   One thing they all have in common is their love for Treats... in this case a Saltine cracker! All of our neighbors were moving this weekend, so our place was a busy little hub! Don't worry - Neighbor Jack was there to direct the traffic!

The Moving Saga Continues...

Welcome to the ever changing life of the Ronnebecks! We have officially signed our "Get the *%^# out of your house" documents with J.J. and we are t-minus 2 weeks till we are out! October 6th is our "final" day, but we have a lot to do between now and then. Today we spent our time cleaning out (and tossing / donating a bunch) our storage unit! We then moved over half of our packed boxes down to storage and now we are spending the rest of our week finishing up packing in hopes to move MOST of our stuff to an offsite storage space, which I ALSO reserved this weekend and saved $30 by booking it online (Score!). Where are we going? Well, thanks for asking, it's rather complicated. Our Dear friends The Olesons have agreed to put us up through the end of the year, plus a couple months while they work on finding a new spot of their own in Edmonds (Bless their hearts). Then, once they move out, John and Kerri (our "to be" landlords) will re-do some...

Where we stand

At some point during this fiasco I'm going to hit a place where I feel calm and at peace with what's happening. This weekend was a step in the right direction. I spent most of the day Saturday packing up some things that we will not have a use for with in the next 77 days and really in the next few months while we wait out our next home in life. Friday we met with JJ; the broker who is working on our transition. We entered our offer ($ amount) to move out by December 1st. We're hoping that the bank will come back with a counteroffer soon so that we can move forward with making solid plans. As of now? We're in limbo (as per usual). We are waiting to hear back from the bank so we know for sure if December 1st is "The" date to have all of our stuff in storage or not. In the meantime... if anyone has any boxes or news papers laying around that I can take off your hands, please let me know I'd be happy to swing by and get them (so long as you'r...

Saying Goodbye...

It's so hard. My brothers first child (and only girl) had to be put down lastnight. She had terrible hip displaysia, but they were hoping she'd make it to another hunt. Kohl watched Tony's every move, She was such a great dog. And I know that Family will miss her terribly. I'll miss her too. Love you girl, good dog!

A Few Thoughts from this week...

We sat down with Tim and Katherine last night and revisited the past month of our stress and change in our lives. It felt cleansing and good to have friends to talk to about this, and to have friends support and to have someone finally understand. I know that moving out of our home isn't necessarily a life changing event, and that often people move several times in their lives, but Eric and I really like to stay put and being able to call the place we live HOME and truly mean it is a big deal for us. We've been facing what seems like an inevitable eviction from our apartment because the bank has foreclosed on the owner of our property, and true we get 90 days to vacate and true they will pay us some relocation assistance, but we don't really want to go anywhere. We have talked to several people about this, and most have been supportive, but it wasn't till we were sitting with Tim and Kat last night hearing how disgusted they were with it all, just like we were tha...

A Grandchild's View ... By Nicole Harrison

My cousin Nicole delivered Grandpa's Eulogy for his funeral, and did an awesome job. I wanted to share it here for everyone. For those of you who do not know me, I am Nicole Harrison and I am blessed to be one of Harvey & Myla’s 16 grandchildren.   On behalf of the family, I would like to thank you for being here today to honor the life of my Grandpa Harvey.   Grandpa lived a full life and there are many stories and perspectives to tell.   I’m here this morning to give you a Grandchild’s view. It would be impossible to describe Grandpa in one word.   To us grandchildren, he was a passionate, respectful, humble, determined, generous, and helpful man.   He was also a story-teller, hard worker, cookie taster, lefse-flipper, and had a great sense of humor. And his smile could light up a room. The one descriptor that cannot go unsaid, though, is Grandpa was a farmer. To Grandpa, farming was more than a means to pay the bills; it was a way of life. ...
