The Wedding

Saturday morning Liz and I woke up, put on our scarves to cover our bed head and headed straight for Starbucks, we got our 3 and 4 shot coffee’s and then went to a grocery store (Hy.vee I think) to get some breakfast for the girls who were getting their hair done. Then we went to the hotel where there were three entire hair studios going simultaneously in two rooms. One gal even brought her own dome hair dryer. It was a pretty impressive operation. We fed the bride some breakfast and started in on the hair do’s. It took about an hour for both Liz and I to get our hair done and then we ran out the door to get the beverages for the Limo ride and Eric from her apartment. Once we got that loaded up we headed for the church. Once we were at the church we watched Heidi get ready for her big day, took about a million and a half pictures, and got our pretty faces on for the pro to do her job. We took a few professional pictures in the church and then hung out waiting for the wedding to start. ...

Omaha Bound & Rehearsal...

Friday morning 2:55am - my alarm starts beeping... and I groan loudly, but then realize that we're getting on a plane to go to Omaha! Yay ! Omaha! My Best friend Heidi and the love of her life Hermann set the date for September 26 th and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Eric and I flew out Friday morning at 6:15am on Frontier Airlines; I have to give a hip hip hooray to Frontier, for it's the first time in a LONG time that I experienced perfect flights. I also really enjoy that they have animals on the tails of their planes and introduce you to those animals in their announcements. When we got into Denver we had about 45 minutes to get to our connecting flight into Omaha. We arrived at the gate with about 20 minutes till they started to board. We gave the gal our tickets and we had to walk out on the Tar Mac to get on the plane; a guy told us to follow the blue animal foot prints to find our plane which lead us to a small plane that had a propeller on each wing...

Leaving town...

I got to absorb this amazing view today because my boss is awesome.... Leaving town for the weekend - house and dog are in capeable hands. Can't wait to see the homeland, but will miss the water for sure. There's no doubt... I love this city. See some of you VERY soon :)

Happy 1st Day of Fall!

There are SO many things I love about fall – I can’t even begin to list them all. (I totally didn’t plan on rhyming there). I love all the warm colors, browns, reds, golds, and oranges. I love the coffee flavors – specifically the pumpkin spice latte and add a pump white mocha to take you directly to heaven. I love the leaves falling to the ground and all the brilliant colors they turn. I love to crunch through the leaves once they’ve been on the ground for quite some time. And a few things I miss about fall in the mid west. I miss the sight of Combines harvesting the crops. The sight of hay bales all lined up in rows waiting in the field to be hauled to the farm to feed the cows. The cool crisp sunny days that leads up to the snow. I love fall, in every way shape and form, and I’m pretty sure that’s my Mom’s fault, because she loves it too! I love that fall ushers in October which means Halloween! Yay for being able to go to South Dakota / Nebraska in the fall; see you this weekend, ...

We leave for the Midwest on Friday!!!

I get to watch my best friend marry the man of her dreams this weekend and it couldn’t be more surreal to me. I guess once I get on the plane reality will hit me, maybe it’s because I’m 1500 miles away, or because my bridesmaid dress hasn’t been hanging in my closet for the past 6 months as it has with other weddings in the past. I believe it’s currently in Andrea’s closet actually! Any ways, I am really getting excited to see my friends, I can’t believe when I de-board the plane on Friday, Liz and Heidi will be there with open arms! I can’t imagine I’ll sleep much this weekend, but I assure myself that it will all be worth it. Sunday Morning we’re departing Omaha to see our family for a little while. We should arrive in Watertown in the afternoon and will be spending time with my immediate family! I have to send out an apology to those of you I will not get a chance to see, this trip is specifically to see Mom and spend time with Tony, Julie and Their boys & Shannon and Erica. Not...

Of Fall things.

I have yet to slip full force into my fall mode this year and I’m not really certain why. Usually when September 1 rolls around I start feeling the need to drink hot coca, wear sweaters, light candles and bake cookies, but the bug hasn’t hit yet. Perhaps it’s because I haven’t gotten my fall leaves or colors up around home yet, Eric tends to try to ward me off as long as he can, and he’s usually not as ready to give up summer to fall as I am. I haven’t really overly decked out on my desk at work – though I do have quite a few leaves up now and it’s slowly turning just like fall does. Maybe it’s just been too darn hot here in Seattle to feel like fall. It’s 63 right now and it’s only 9:15am! Seriously, didn’t father fall get the memo? I’m ready for him to visit! Last night Mom told me that the leaves across the street from their house (i.e. my favorite place in the fall hands down) are starting to turn beautiful colors and they should be even more turned by the time I get there – aaaah...

Seahawk Sunday!

The Seahawks play their first regular season game today, which means that it's nothing but Seahawk Blue and lime green in this house. I took the liberty to torture Gracie by making her wear Aquaman's back up Seahawks bandanna. She is currently hiding in her condo pissed off at me for the notion. I don't know what she's more mad about, the fact that I made her wear one, or the fact that it is *GASP* The DOG's!!! Thought I'd post some Seahawk goodness on my page today for the event, I dug out some old pictures of us at past games. I must give out my congratulations to the Vikings for the big W against the Browns. I guess Favre is doing some good! We've had a really quiet weekend, Friday Lee was over so I spent a lot of time on Facebok chatting with my sister, it was fun! Saturday we ran some errands, as we're pet sitting for two of our friends this weekend and then came home and watched "big Love" which is the tv series we can't get enou...

Baby Keenan Michael Muma

A New Nielsen

Welcome to the world Little Brynn Lee Grabow! Luke and Amber welcomed her EARLY this morning, and as you can see she's very very tiny, at 5lb's! I'm sure Tysen & Hayley are excited to have a new little sister, and we're all excited to have her here too! Congratulations Everyone!

Can't Buy Me Love...

The past few months, all the hype has gotten me going on Beatles Rock band for the Xbox 360. We have a 360 but after looking at the price tag for Beatles Rock band, I think we’ll forgo it for a while and maybe forever. I know that gaming is expensive, but $260 for the game pack! Wow! I can’t even fathom spending that on what is essentially an accessory to the machine itself. That being said, here’s a little tribute to the Beatles, my musical love. I would love to spend $260 on a 3D John, Paul, Ringo & George to spend the afternoon with me but instead I will just go home and download the music onto my Ipod and dream of the day Beatles Rock band is more reasonably priced. Happy Beatles Day everyone! and if anyone has bought it... CALL ME!!!! I WILL GLADLY COME PLAY THE GUITAR FOR YOU! ♥abby

240 posts ... 365 Days!

Happy Anniversary! Today it has been one year since I started Seattleites. I never dreamt that I would have kept up with a blog a year from when I started it. I wasn’t even sure that I could keep it up for a whole month. Last year I only posted a total of 7 times in the month of September. Currently, I average at least 20 posts a month. I guess this is just to say Thanks for reading, and thanks for putting up with my ever changing backgrounds, colors and headers. Here’s to another year (or longer) ♥ Abby

Gallivanting with Katherine

Reiner is over to hangout with Eric today which usually means that Katherine and I go for a random excursion or Gallivant for the day. It's always a good time, and usually involves sweets, coffee and shopping. This morning I hung out with Mariya and ran a few errands and after that Kat came and picked me up and we headed to Ballard. The only reason we really go to Ballard is for Archie McPhee's , but now that we realize that there's Cupcake Royale there we may go back more often! Our first stop was for a Red Velvet (for moi) and a Peppermint Chocolate for Kat. We then walked down the street looking for Archie McPhee's . We'd both been there several times, and realized once we passed the building that Archie's had moved. *GASP* Archies is no longer in Ballard??? Sad. So we went looking for it and found ourselves in Wallingford just down the street a couple miles; there it was in all it's glory, Archie McPhee's . We bought some goodies and headed home...

Making Friends

I don’t know that I’ ve mentioned this, but meeting friends out here is kind of difficult. I don’t mean that I don’t have ANY friends, but most of my friends out here, are one’s I’ ve met through Eric and friends that I carried over from South Dakota. Not that these friends are bad in any sense of the word, but it's always good to have a lot of friends. The past month I’ ve been hanging out with a new friend and its fun to have someone to go to the mall with, hang out at home and watch girly movies in our sweats with, drink Tea and eat brownies with. Mariya is a massage therapist who lives within a few miles from our house. She is getting married to the love of her life NEXT WEEK! We’ ve been doing a lot of wedding planning together! Have I mentioned that she too is a scrapbooker ? DANGER! And we both have Canon’s that we’re learning to use. I’m excited about our new friendship!

My Erica

This is reason #8,394 why I LOVE THE INTERNET! Shannon, Erica & Mom just got hooked up today and look what I recieved! A photo of my 'little' girl on her first day of school! I won't write too much else, because I don't want to embarass her, but look at how grown up she is! I can't wait to give her the biggest hug ever in 22 days!

I♥fall

Smell that? That crisp fall air? Nope me either – its 59 degrees and the sun is shining. I always wake up September 1st expecting for the outdoors to be this glorious shade of fall with the leaves turning and falling and the warm spice of it all surrounds me. Today, I woke, and felt like it was August 32nd – a little disappointing. I’m sure in the coming weeks I will be squealing with joy of all the leaves turning colors, and that you will see 850 photographs of leaves! I hope you have a wonderful September 1st – which reminds me… Happy 50th Birthday! Auntie Kathy!
